Oracle Critical Facilities Director in Topeka, Kansas

Job Description

Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and strategic planning of our state-of-the-art data center. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of critical infrastructure. As the Critical Facility Director, you will lead a team of data center professionals partnering closely with other departments to support business continuity, scalability, and the security of our IT and operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage a team in the maintenance and operation of the data center.

  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance management to foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment.

  • Develop and implement a culture of safety and operational excellence, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Critical Systems Oversight

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical systems, including electrical power (UPS, generators), HVAC (cooling systems), fire suppression, and physical security.

  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of all systems that directly impact uptime and operational efficiency.

  • Proactively identify potential risks, system weaknesses, and mitigation strategies to minimize downtime or service disruption.

  • Data Center Operations Management

  • Drive operational excellence with an emphasis on minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous, efficient data center services.

  • Manage scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and emergency repairs to ensure systems remain operational and meet performance metrics.

  • Create and manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure all critical equipment is properly serviced.

  • Budgeting

  • Develop and oversee the annual budget for data center operations, ensuring cost-effective management of resources while adhering to fiscal constraints.

  • Work closely with other departments (IT, Network, and Security) to align capacity requirements with strategic business goals.

  • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Ensure data center business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place, regularly tested, and updated.

  • Lead the response efforts to critical incidents, ensuring the safety of personnel and minimal impact to business operations.

  • Collaborate with the IT teams to maintain and execute high-availability configurations and ensure maximum uptime.

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure quality support for critical infrastructure.

  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with external vendors to meet operational requirements.

  • Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure data center operations are in compliance with all industry standards and regulations.

  • Regularly audit and monitor performance, and environmental metrics to ensure compliance with established policies.

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously assess and improve facility operations to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance system reliability.

  • Implement innovative solutions and emerging technologies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
