                                                                      $84,278 at six months with satisfactory performance

                                                               $90,692 with one year of satisfactory performance

The Office of Judicial Administration is seeking a dynamic and skilled Cyber Security IT Infrastructure Manager to lead within our network security team in providing strong leadership, essential technical support and expertise to the Kansas Judicial Branch.  The successful candidate will lead a team of network security engineers and network security analysts ensuring the security of information services across the branch.  The ideal candidate will possess a strong background leading a network security team.

Duties will include:

  • Assessing vulnerabilities: lead team in conducting vulnerability assessments, risk assessments and penetration tests to identify potential security issues.

  • Lead team in incident response procedures, including identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.

  • Documenting security incidents: lead team in maintenance of documentation of security incidents, including incident details, response actions taken, and lessons learned. Prepare incident reports for management review.

  • Provides leadership and manages the unit. Makes decisions, solves problems, develops unit procedures, conducts meetings, and represents unit at internal and external meetings.

  • Manages employees and team performance; coaches, counsels, motivates, and evaluates employees.

  • Leads innovation strategies.

    Reporting and Line Management: This position reports directly to the Kansas Judicial Branch Chief Information Security Officer.

        

    Required education and experience:   CompTIA Security+ (Proof required to be submitted with application.) In addition, the successful candidate must be capable of translating regulatory requirements and determining whether or not existing controls meet requirements. This position requires identification of risks to information systems and data, as well as recommending mitigating controls and solutions. The position must understand how to develop and deliver metrics and reports. The successful candidate should be able to understand data analytics. The successful candidate must have the ability to read and comprehend technical information related to software, hardware and telecommunications systems. This position must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with users at all levels.

    Preferred qualifications : 

  • Experience in leading and supervising a technical team.

  • Experience in Network Security such as configuring and maintaining network security devices such as firewalls, VPNs, and / or intrusion detection/prevention systems.

  • Experience in analyzing threat intelligence feeds, understanding the current threat landscape, and implementing proactive security measures based on threat intelligence insights.

  • Experience with Security Tool Evaluation and Selection: Involvement in evaluating and selecting security tools and technologies based on organizational needs. Experience in assessing the effectiveness of security solutions and making recommendations for improvements.

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Associate, or other Cybersecurity related introductory-level certifications (Proof required.)
