IT Network Services seeks a candidate for the Demand Management & Consulting team to assist in the prioritization and evaluation of incoming network services related requests. The selected candidate will serve as an entry point to demand (requests) from various stakeholders, as a demand specialist. The candidate will perform the administrative work of ensuring demand is appropriately captured from requesting stakeholders, routine administration of a demand “intake” form, reporting current state of demand, assisting in initial orchestration of requests with product teams across the Network Services department and working with the broader Demand team and Product Teams to tease out details of the request, develop costs estimates for the requested capability, and consult on designing and implementing network infrastructure solutions that meet the capability request, utilizing classic IT and agile IT in the DevSecOps model. Experience in supporting or executing ‘demand management’ processes in information technology is needed. Experience in IT data network stack is desired but not required.
The selected candidate will focus on the administration of incoming demand from our business partners who request changes or enhancements to the network (e.g., wired networking, Wi-Fi, firewall, DMZ, routing, security, voice or data networks, etc.).
Demand registration and reporting (administrative management of intake including organizing requests and reporting basic metrics)
Administrative point of entry for incoming demand from stakeholders outside of Network Services (i.e., facilities, business partners, or other internal IT organization) (e.g., Manufacturing plants, facility requests, research labs, animal health, human health, or any other business requirements to expand or enhance our Network topology)
Maintenance of the “intake” form
Assist in orchestrating the initial evaluation of incoming requests; coordinate with respective product team to develop detailed demand evaluation together with the requestors.
Consolidation of demand requests and gather inputs for budget and prioritization decisions
Monitor and facilitate the overall demand management “process” from intake, evaluation, assignment to a product team, gathering the estimate, reporting
Education Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of Demand Management IT experience or High School Diploma with 6 years of Demand Management IT experience.
Degree preferred in or relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering.
Required Experience and Skills:
2+ years in providing demand management support in an agile framework within an IT organization
Excellent organizational (i.e., methodical) and time management skills
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Wide IT Data Networking experience with Routing & Switching, Network Security, Cloud technologies and Unified Communications (Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto, AWS, Azure, Webex, Zoom, etc.) is a plus but not a requirement.
2-3 years experience or participation in project & demand management of medium or large IT projects.
Experience in ITIL and in a project management methodology and Agile awareness.
Agile certifications a plus.
Good knowledge of IT governance processes, especially demand management.
Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow or similar tools especially in relation to usage within a demand/prioritization process
Ability to create positive relationships at all levels across different groups & teams.
Ability to review priorities and adjust them quickly as business focus shifts to higher importance objectives; ability to meet deadlines.
Some proven experience with working across technical and business teams to achieve common objectives and good customer experience.
Strong customer service skills.
Solid project management and time management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills within a matrix organization.
