National Dentex Dental Lab Technician (Denture Finish) in Topeka, Kansas

Description

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry! We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Heumann in Topeka, KS, for a Dental Laboratory Technician (Denture Finish).

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Read all prescriptions (Rx), specifications and preferences received from doctor

  • Able to follow and perform processes step by step outlined in the Technical Team Policies (TTP’s) for contouring

  • Seek management’s assistance when unclear on doctor’s Rx or specifications

  • Blend all primary contours to achieve final shape and size of restoration to fit into the existing dentition

  • Keep all work areas clean on a daily basis

  • All other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

  • Display manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Good hand-eye coordination

  • Excellent perception skills and attention to detail

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:

  • High speed hand piece

  • Low speed hand piece

  • Assorted diamond burs/discs

  • Assorted carbide burs

  • Aluminum Oxide

  • Stone Wheel

  • Sandblaster porcelain ovens

  • Gold, Platinum, Nickel Free metal

  • Porcelain/Titanium dioxide

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit for long periods of time

  • Standing and bending

  • Perform repetitive movements using upper extremities

  • Vision capabilities: Depth perception, attention to detail and/or color
