Meta Director, People Communications in Topeka, Kansas

We‘re looking for a creative and strategic communications expert to lead our People Communications function whose purpose is to share the many ways that Meta cares about our employees. This may be through our benefits, compensation, training, diversity and inclusion efforts, hybrid work practices, or a number of other people programs. In this role, you’ll be a strategic communications partner to our leaders across the People Organization (HR). You’ll also help guide and inspire the People Communications team to craft proactive and reactive communication strategies with messaging that lands in a human and empathetic way. At times, you’ll also influence program direction and help connect dots across the organization to ensure we’re putting our people’s experience at the center when communicating change. This role will report into the Director, People Experience who oversees Internal Community, People (HR) Communications, and Creative Content. Required Skills:

Director, People Communications Responsibilities:

  1. Develop an HR communications strategy in partnership with Strategic Planning that supports the People organization’s top priorities with both proactive and reactive approaches

  2. Evolve the existing communications model to better scale with the business, and to balance support for run-the-business communications and engaging marketing campaigns

  3. Design effective change management approaches in close partnership with HR functions and employment law that optimizes for the employee experience

  4. Partner closely with the Creative Content team to develop a close partnership and support model that marries strategic comms with compelling creative assets

  5. Develop strong cross-functional partnerships with Internal Communications, PR, and Strategic Response to align on priorities, communication goals, channels strategy, and messaging to get the most employee engagement

  6. Create more rigor around communications operations and measurement

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years experience in communications, marketing, or human resources

  2. Experience developing strategic communications plans and executing against them

  3. Experience engaging with and influencing C-level stakeholders

  4. Experience managing multiple strategic priorities simultaneously and independently

  5. Experience with crisis management, change management, internal communications, and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) communications

  6. Experience building cross-functional relationships

  7. Experience leading teams through ambiguity and a highly matrixed organization with shifting priorities

  8. Presentation skills
