What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of test environments, including hardware, software, network, and data configurations.

  • Support the maintenance and upgrades of test environments to ensure they reflect the latest software and hardware releases.

  • Assist with the scheduling and implementation of software releases and customer cutovers.

  • Support for planning, loading, and refreshing data periodically from higher environments.

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and other teams to understand their environment needs and address any issues.

  • Help identify and resolve problems or issues with test environments.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of test environments and assist in reporting their status and performance.

  • Ensure environment stability and availability.

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Experience with cloud-based test environments.

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.

  • Basic understanding of software development and testing processes, and knowledge of various testing tools and platforms.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills for team interactions.

  • Willingness to learn and tackle technical issues.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Interest in learning and developing long-term test environment management strategies.

  • Any prior experience in managing test environments is a plus.

  • Completes work; independently receives general guidance on new projects

  • Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives

  • May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Anticipated salary range: $93,500 - $140,280
