Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

The Support Engineering team is seeking a full-stack developer who has an interest in implementing a chatbot geared at helping Oracle's customers get up and running in My Oracle Support (MOS). In addition, this team implements and manages applications which help automate and improve the overall support experience for our customers.

You will work with project leadership, project managers, architects, UX designers, product managers, and fellow developers to strategize, design, and deliver full-stack enterprise web-based applications, as well as conversational AI assets. Expect to develop and/or lead design sprints, workshops, reviews, and related activities with business, technical, and creative leadership

Required Experience

  • BS/MS in Computer/Social Science, Engineering, or related/equivalent field ideally with a significant Machine Learning or AI component.

  • Strong foundation in software engineering best practices which enable building world class products, including architecture design principles, coding standards, testing and continuous integration/deployment, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills with an awareness of and ability to optimize interaction experiences

  • 5+ years of progressive experience developing full-stack enterprise class applications

  • Back end development experience in Java, node.js, and/or Python

  • Front end development experience in Oracle JET, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, react.js or node.js

  • Knowledge integrating web services and applications using REST APIs & JSON.

  • Experience with relational database technologies, both traditional and current (NoSQL)

  • Experience in CI/CD, Git, unit-testing and source code management

  • Knowledge of cloud development and deployment principles

  • Self-directed work ethic, with the ability to adapt to rapidly prototype and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Preferred Experience

  • Experience designing and developing chatbots for various channels (web, Slack) using bot platforms or raw code

  • Experience with implementing design flows, and incorporating final content for virtual assistant or chatbot

  • Experience working with NLU/NLP systems such as Oracle Digital Assistant, IBM Watson Assistant, or Microsoft LUIS.
