Job Description:

The Transaction Processing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of Eligibility Professionals. This person will mentor their team for the development and improvement of service to customers. This role will improve internal communication and flows for the completion of their teams’ transactions. The transactional processing supervisor is responsible for the management of organizing and directing the daily activities and specific functions within the Eligibility service organization. The Supervisor is responsible for providing frontline, first level supervision and leadership to eligibility professionals and other lines of eligibility with the goal of meeting program objectives and customer service level agreements. The supervisor will build, manage, and coach teams who are able to provide exceptional customer service. The supervisor will be accountable for ensuring their teams are meeting quality standards outlined in business operations, calculating and coaching to performance metrics and analyzing reports to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

*The position is in Topeka, KS, however, the work may be performed from home at times considering the economic and office impact of Covid-19

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise and monitor the activities of the department to ensure staff are knowledgeable and provide direction in the initial application, review, determination and processing of Medicaid Applications in accordance of State and Federal regulations

  • Responds to complex and/or emergent matters needing second level support by conducting research and resolving issues

  • Provide direction and mentoring on ongoing basis to develop employees’ performance, including production and quality. Write and conduct performance reviews

  • Review productivity and quality assurance, mentor to required performance standards

  • Collaborate with staff from the Quality Department and participate in and contribute to quality improvement processes

  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all areas pertaining to systems, data, and proprietary information

  • Consistently build and maintain solid working relationships with employees, management, and key individuals in other departments

  • Keeping up to date with business development and new policies and procedures

  • Manage day-to-day activities, prioritize and make risk/impact assessments within existing processes and procedures towards achieving SLAs

  • Ensure training and development plans are maintained for all team members

  • Escalate any appropriate problems to senior management

  • Support the Senior Manager to highlight operational risks and areas for improvement

  • Communicates with teams and Managers to provide status of work.

  • Participates in meetings with internal teams and external clients.

Required skills/abilities

  • Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care programs.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels

  • Ability to problem solve through analysis and ongoing feedback.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines; flexibility under pressure

  • Ability to deal with customer escalations

  • Capable of working independently

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

    Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience considered in lieu of degree

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a service center environment, required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite

  • Bilingual, preferred
