Our client is seeking a Information Systems Manager to join their team. As a Information Systems Manager , you will be coordinating with other managers in this bureau as well as in the agency to ensure the technical infrastructure and standards are articulated to the agency and available for the agency to efficiently and effectively perform business functions.

Location: Topeka, KS ( 1 Or 2 Days onsite a week)

What's the Job:

  • Participates in the organization’s strategic planning and identifies opportunities for Technical Units to contribute to business objectives.

  • Communicates and coordinates activities between the Infrastructure Technologies Unit, Applications Unit, Enterprise Solutions Unit and Project Management Unit.

  • Staffs, develops and motivates competent information technology employees engaged in support of the server, database, desktop support, and district IT units.

  • Identifies and publicizes technical and infrastructure standards for the agency and the external customers to follow when participating in KDOT projects.

  • Defines or plans projects to improve or update the technical infrastructure to support the organization’s business functions, remaining consistent with the organization’s strategic plan or present deviations or changes in direction with justification for changes.

  • Responsible for the oversight of the consultants involved with technical infrastructure projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The person in this position must be able to pass a Level II Security Clearance administered by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) on behalf of the Kansas Office of Information Technology Services.

  • Three years of experience in information systems AND a bachelor’s degree in computer science and analysis OR seven years of experience in information systems and analysis.

  • Three years successful experience leading an information technology team, including, but not limited to Microsoft Server support, Desktop support, IT Helpdesk support, and security support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred.

  • Five years of successful experience leading an information technology team, including, but not limited to Microsoft Server support, Desktop support, IT Helpdesk support, Oracle and SQL database support.

  • Customer relationship skills, presentation skills, and problem-solving skills.

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred.
