Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology group. We are looking for an experienced level IT Operations Technician, Network Support to provide day-to-day technical support for technical problems and information technology issues involving networks, data center operations and incident response services. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong analytical skills and be detail oriented. The Network Operations Support team provides day-to-day technical support for CHS production support problems and troubleshooting issues involving level 1, 2 and 3 incident response services. Monitors and troubleshoots job queues, network devices, enterprise hardware. Provides support related functions for those systems utilizing scheduling tools as well as enterprise monitoring tools. Provides case status updates to management and end-users. Provides support for CHS enterprise applications and local hardware and connections. Supports, develops, documents, and implements standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to scheduling and monitoring support. Recommends solutions to reduce problems, including new processes and technology needs.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate production monitoring indicators and ensure appropriate response and communication are executed as dictated by operating procedures.

  • Manage daily tasks provided by operating notes or procedures for systems administered by network operations.

  • Perform daily health checks of network elements such as switches, firewalls, routers, load balancers, IPS and related elements.

  • Responsible for hands-on monitoring of facilities and device utilization levels for problems and re-sizing actions, as needed.

  • Perform general tasks including cabling and racking activities to aid in the ongoing support of enterprise environments.

  • Identify, research, and analyze operational problems. Work with other IT Operations Support staff to resolve issues that come into the network operations center (NOC).

  • Provide case status updates to management and end-users.

  • Assist in identifying reoccurring issues and drive towards permanent resolution.

  • Recommend hardware and software solutions to reduce problems, including new acquisitions and upgrades.

  • Support fire-call requests and initial trouble shooting activities such as reset user passwords and other first level support tasks.

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

  • 1+ years of experience in a network support and operations environment to include:

  • Knowledge of networking including LAN/WAN monitoring, TCP/IP configuration, traffic types, MPLS, understanding DHCP and DNS services/servers, proxy servers, firewalls and VPN

  • Experience with Server/Windows troubleshooting

Additional Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a network operations environment, and monitoring IT infrastructure and applications

  • Previous work experience with Server/Windows troubleshooting

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
