Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our Facilities team and has a new opportunity for a Journeyman Electrician. This position will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within the Topeka and Lawrence buildings. This includes a wide range of systems such as fire alarms, power, lighting, generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), building automation, low-voltage systems, and more. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of these systems.

What youll do
- Perform maintenance and repairs on branch circuit lighting, general-purpose power systems, fixtures, devices, and distribution systems.
- Maintain and repair electrical components of specialized systems, including Fire Alarm, Building Automation/HVAC, Security and Surveillance Systems, Door Access Control, Clocks, UPS, Generators, Data Center Circuits, Kitchen Equipment, and other systems as needed.
- Coordinate electrical work for remodels and upgrades, collaborating with internal teams and external contractors.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address emergency repairs outside of normal business hours.
- Troubleshoot electrical installations and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Support departmental leadership in campus maintenance and space planning projects.
- Occasional travel to field offices across Kansas, including potential overnight stays.
