ICF Consulting Group, Inc. Lead Software Developer - REMOTE in Topeka, Kansas

Are you a Development Manager interested in impacting the environment, public health and helping clients with access to essential public works programs? Are you interested in increasing the efficiency and efficacy of meaningful public programs while forwarding the science informing them?

If so, you may be the right Lead Software Developer to join ICF’s Survey Research team. As a developer, you will work in one of the largest public health survey organizations. Although we have deep expertise in public health surveys (e.g. youth risk, smoking, chronic diseases, traumatic brain injuries) in agencies such as the CDC and SAMHSA, we are topic agnostic and provide significant knowledge to nearly all federal and state agencies, as well as non-profit and commercial entities.

We have offices in the Washington DC area and throughout the United States. This position is eligible for 100% remote work.

Your primary responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Assigning and overseeing development responsibilities for a team of 6

  • Forecasting timelines on a routine basis

  • Collaborating closely with project management staff on development status and specification adjustments

  • Hands- on survey development within our current survey software Voxco and/or other data collection platforms

  • Development of new applications and objects in JavaScript, HTML, CSS

  • Communication with team to identify impediments

  • Helping maintain code quality and organization

  • Working closely with others to solution potential problems

  • Improving existing applications

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, or related field

  • 7 years of experience with 3 years in managing a development team

  • Proficient in JavaScript

  • Proficient in HTML and CSS

  • Experience with Agile development

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies

Preferred:

  • Experience in developing survey research instruments (CATI, mail, web modes) a plus

  • Experience with SQL server is a plus

  • Experience with Voxco or other data collection platforms is a plus

  • Experience with PowerShell is a plus

  • Experience with Python is a plus

  • Experience with data visualization is a plus
