The Learning Design Professional uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Learning Design Professional 2 work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. They analyze, organize, and design effective learning solutions and are responsible for performance assessments to measure training effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and develop learning solutions for both new hires and existing associates to support role-based organizational needs
Conduct needs analysis and use findings to develop learning solutions targeted to meet specific audience needs
Use a disciplined instructional design approach to create meaningful, memorable learning experiences
Select appropriate learning activities and methods to achieve objectives, and build those activities into a meaningful sequence
Selects appropriate media for delivery (instructor-led training, eLearning, virtual, blended learning, etc.) to ensure learning needs are effectively and efficiently met
Create high quality solutions that are creative, engaging, instructionally sound, complete, and accurately convey learning concepts
Identify and validate content to be used in learning materials based on input from Operational business partners, such as subject matter experts or key performers
Evaluate the success of learning solutions in terms of learning outcomes in collaboration with Operational metrics, performance change and business impact; identify trends and patterns in data
Prepare facilitator support materials (i.e., power point slides, leader/facilitator guides, learning activities, evaluation tools, etc.) and collaborate with others to ensure effective delivery and engaging learning experiences
Maintain curriculum content and agendas
Establish learning development timelines, milestones and regularly communicate progress
Respond to curriculum/content feedback
Works independently, under general supervision, and within established policies/practices with opportunity for deviation
Determine methods/approach to work
Establish own work priorities
Require minimal instruction to achieve results
Understand work impact, concepts/strategies, regulations, and operating standards for the job’s department and segment, including their linkages to related areas
Conduct peer reviews of learning content
Anticipate and proactively address issues
Ensure work is quality reviewed and willing to accept feedback
React quickly and adapt to change in a fast paced environment
Perform semi-routine work that necessitates interpretation of policies and procedures and determination of appropriate course of action
Regularly contribute ideas, seek to make process enhancements, and identify potential challenges within the job’s area

Required Qualifications
3 or more years of learning design experience with adult learners
Minimum 1 year of experience in a consumer facing role
Working experience and technical skills with learning design tools
Progressive business experience with a focus on eLearning strategies and adult learning theories
Excellent writing, grammatical, and verbal communication skills
Strong emotional intelligence and organizational skills with the ability to be flexible in a very fluid and fast-paced environment with changing processes and multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Experience with Microsoft Office products and/or similar tools to include PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in Medicaid/Medicare business lines or contact center
Work experience in a health care and / or Insurance setting
2 or more years in contact center learning and development for Fortune top 100 organization
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing curriculum content, eLearning programs and virtual learning solutions
Experience with using Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise)
Project management experience and/or PMP certification
Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Performance, Education, Communications, Performance Consulting, Industrial/Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field
Proficiency designing virtual Instructor-led training
Experience developing and managing courses in an LMS (Learning Management System)
Prior experience with measuring learning solutions and tying to performance
Work-At-Home Requirements
At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$59,300 - $80,900 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
