The Librarian I assists people who contact the Reference department with questions about legislation, legislative procedure, and state government as well as general reference questions. Others contacting the State Library include legislators, legislative staff, and students using State Library resources. Contact is made through phone, email, instant message chat and in-person.
This position is also the Federal Depository Coordinator for the State Library as required by the Federal Depository Library Program. As Coordinator, this position serves as the point of contact with the U.S. Government Printing Office. Other work as assigned: being a training liaison with other state agencies; writing blogs for Kansas public libraries; editing bibliographic records in the catalog.
Master's Degree in Library Science or be enrolled in an accredited library degree program.
