Description
MedTech, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Manager, Outbound Freight Transportation Operations- MedTech located in Raritan, NJ as part of the Deliver Organization, North America. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company.
Johnson & Johnson's MedTech Deliver organization is a global Supply Chain organization that supports operating units across the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Family of Companies. Supply Chain Deliver strives to develop and maintain an exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer facing functions such as distribution and transportation. In addition, Supply Chain Deliver leads all aspects of critical business enablers, including how we gather and manage supply chain master data, safe and secure supply chain practices, product identification standards, and market/channel access capabilities. This team is represented in multiple countries and continues to grow globally in both visibility and responsibility.
As the Manager, Outbound Freight Transportation Operations- MedTech, you will lead a team responsible for outbound finished goods transportation for the various MedTech operating company supply chains. You will also have direct oversight and responsibility for cost and service improvement programs across the businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage $100MM outbound freight annual budget across Ethicon/ENDO, Depuy Synthes, CSS, and Vision for both US and Canada.
Manage a team of 3 people of Leads and Senior Analysts, located in various locations aligned to support Operating Company and customer requirements.
Lead the business relationship with supported customers’ senior management teams and establish scope, roles & responsibilities on all transportation-related functions.
Focus on key metrics owned by Transportation such as OTIF (On Time In Full), Cost Improvement Programs, Freight Spend performance vs. budget, and Quality deliverables.
Responsible for handling transportation claims, quality events, and investigation of OS&D (Overage, Shortage & Damages).
Develop partnerships with external service providers through strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to drive process improvements and manage service gaps.
People Development and leadership, including managing remote employees.
Leverage the processes across companies, drive consistency, and modify processes in accordance with Supply Chain & Deliver Organization.
Manage multiple priorities successfully and work independently while demonstrating initiative and applying a solid background of demonstrated analytical experience to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Support network changes and service/mode optimization through various strategic projects.
Partner with Global and North America Logistics Procurement to drive strategic and innovative supplier relationships.
Transportation Lead for any outbound crisis management and ensuring BCPs are in place to meet customer demands.
Operational management of all outbound freight pay business rules and invoice resolution.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business, Transportation, and/or Supply Chain preferred
Minimum six (6) years of Supply Chain and/or Operations experience
Advanced analytics experience
Preferred:
Knowledge of U.S. and international transportation industry and networks
Experience with Transportation Management Systems, ERP platforms, and BI tools
Project management
Direct people-management experience
Transportation operations experience
Strong financial acumen
Strong digital acumen
Experience with Transportation Management Systems
Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Training, and/or Certification
Other:
- The position requires up to 10% domestic travel, with occasional overnight travel.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $97,000 to $166,750. The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.
