As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

This is an opportunity to have a direct and significant impact on the foundation upon which Oracle NetSuite is built. In this role, you will develop our Cassandra stack focusing on Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, SaltStack) in the Oracle Cloud (OCI). You will deal with challenges in scalability, concurrency, high availability, and the definition and configuration of our Service Infrastructure. Using a repeatable and testable process, you will engineer the systems that allow our application suite to deliver rapidly and reliably to a growing customer base.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make immediate contributions to the organization as you:
Develop and maintain Cassandra clusters in a multi-datacenter setup
Develop a testing framework to deploy and maintain Cassandra clusters
Document process and building playbooks to be used by other teams
Work with internal teams to configure and improve performance
Implement DataStax standards and best practices
B.S. or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
Experience deploying and maintaining Cassandra Clusters
A deep understanding of Cassandra partitioning and performance
Ability to create advanced table partitioning schemes
A solid understanding of CQL and primary/partition key design for queries
Familiarity with tools and processes for Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and SaltStack
Comfortable analyzing complex problems at all levels of the stack, on both client and server (OS, Network, JVM, Storage)
Passion for testing and high-quality code
Strong communication skills. You should be able to convey technical detail in clear and straightforward terms to various audiences.
Strong problem-solving skills. You will need to analyze, diagnose, and resolve unexpected behavior in complex, distributed systems.
Experience building, testing, and maintaining cloud systems written in Java or Python (or another scripting language)
Interest and enthusiasm for new technologies that can be applied to large-scale cloud systems
