Other duties will include assisting Parks andRecreation Payroll and the Professional Development and Services team with preparingdocuments, organizing files, managing existing documents, and general office keeping.Responsible for occasional cash handling according to existing policies.Performs other duties as assigned. This position is supervised by the Professional Developmentand Services Superintendent.*WORK PERFORMED*50% Customer Service. Performs a wide variety of customer service responsibilities thatincludes researching questions, solving problems, providing information to internal staffand the general public. Greets walk-in customers and assists with inquiries. Directsincoming calls to the appropriate staff. Enters department registrations and reservationsin to software system. Researches departmental policies, rules and regulations.30% Clerical. Performs a variety of clerical duties including copying reports, assists in thecompletion and copying of new hire paperwork for permanent and intermittentemployees, answers telephones, completes filing, schedules appointments, and greetscustomers. Operates a variety of standard and unique office machinery. Will beresponsible for cash handling according to policy.10% Document Preparation/Proofing. Types memos, letters, and other businesscorrespondence. Proofs typed documents for accuracy, spelling, punctuation andgrammar. Maintains records for employees, payroll, timesheets or other necessaryrecords. Processes contractual benefits and wage steps and requests for personnel action.10% Data Entry. Performs data entry functions. Types data from forms into computerdatabases and spreadsheets.
