The Payroll Analyst I is responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, efficiency and timely payroll processing for all employees. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, researching and resolving payroll and timekeeping issues. The Payroll Analyst will work closely with HR and Finance departments to ensure smooth payroll functions, including tax calculations, benefits deductions, and reporting. Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and policies, interpret organizational impact, and support required process and systems changes to remain compliant and efficient.
*This position will be hired at the Payroll Analyst I or Payroll Analyst II level.
What youll do
- Support payroll operations specialists in the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
- Lead the preparation and distribution of payroll reports and statements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Support implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and software.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Support preparation and filing of payroll tax returns and other regulatory reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in payroll regulations

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- General understanding of financial controls and risk management.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change
- Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- High proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
What you need
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required may substitute degree with 3 years of progressive work experience in a payroll operations role.
- 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or a related field
