Job Description Summary:
The Principal Customer Solutions Engineer brings creativity, curiosity and passion to the role. Technical Leadership
Responsible for delivering customer-facing implementations for the Rocket Data Intelligence (“DI”) Product Suite
Leads successful customer service engagements by providing architecture, design, and delivery of DI Product Suite
Represents Customer Solutions Engineering (“CSE”) team, working with Support, Product Management, and Development teams to test and resolve product issues
Determines technical resource skill requirements for project delivery tasks
Assist Project Management team in change control, risk management, planning, estimating, and driving toward expected outcomes
Develops and demonstrates deep expertise in the Rocket Data Intelligence product suite
Collaborates with cross-functional teams, serving as a thought-leader in the area of Enterprise Data Management and providing feedback on product roadmaps and new features
Articulates the practical application of the products in a variety of customer environments
Identifies opportunities for additional customer technology enhancements through understanding of Rocket product portfolio
Contributes as subject matter expert in services pre-sales activities including discovery, scoping and solution proposals
Services to Customers
Provide exceptional value-driven services to customers
Builds upon established solution delivery techniques to help drive continual improvement
Guides and trains customers in best practice configuration and use of Rocket products
Establishes credibility as a Rocket product expert with all audience levels
Mentors and teaches other consultants on product implementation strategies
Leverages Rocket subject matter experts to provide effective and creative solutions to Rocket customers
Assertively and persuasively deals with challenges
Partners with Project Management to develop an effective approach to projects that considers customer objectives, timeframe and budget
Gains an understanding of the customer business and seeks to identify opportunities where Rocket can bring added value to the customer
Required Qualifications:
10+ years in related Information Technology position
8+ years Consulting or Team Lead experience
8+ years software/interface development is a plus
Strong technical knowledge in the following areas:
Relational Databases (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, IBM Db2)
ETL Tools (e.g., Informatica, IBM DataStage, Ab Initio)
Data Modeling (e.g., erwin, SAP PowerDesigner)
Business Intelligence (e.g., IBM Cognos, SAP BusinessObjects, SSRS)
Big Data (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Hive, Flume, Cloudera)
Experience with technologies highly desired:
Enterprise Data Management
Rochade/becubic, or any other Metadata Management solution
Data Quality/Profiling
Broad knowledge of environments in which Rocket Data Intelligence (previously “ASG Data Intelligence”) based solutions will be deployed—web technologies, Java and .Net architectures, UML, and ER modelling disciplines
Significant capture experience on large, complex, IT solution deals involving consulting partners
Up to 25% travel required during key implementation periods
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or similar required; Advanced Degree preferred
The base salary range for this role is $124,572.50 - $155,715.75 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
