The principal research specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design, execution, and analysis of research projects and clinical trial execution. They work closely with other researchers, stakeholders, and clients to define the research objectives, scope, methods, and deliverables. They also supervise and mentor the field research team, ensuring that they follow the best practices, ethical standards, and quality criteria. A principal research specialist may also contribute to the research output by conducting literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, or report writing. Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Principal Field Research Specialist for the US geography area, What You’ll Work On

  • Clinical Leadership: Serve as the clinical authority, providing strategic insights to inform product development decisions. Collaborate with senior product managers, R&D and cross-functional teams to ensure clinical input is integrated into all stages of development.

  • Research Excellence: Ensure our research activity and SOPs meet the highest clinical standards and align with workflow needs.

  • Innovation and Optimization: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on new clinical opportunities. Develop comprehensive internal and external toolkits to optimize field research workflows.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Collaborate cross functionally and commercial teams to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable feedback to drive continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Relationships: Build and nurture strong relationships with external partners to drive future clinical trial success. Lead strategic initiatives, expanding existing partnerships and exploring new marketplaces.

  • Quality Reviews: Perform clinical quality reviews of criteria, workflows, and technical build.

  • Research Education: Design and lead educational sessions for internal and external teams on relevant clinical content.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required: advanced degree preferred MBA, MSN, DNP, APN

  • 8-10+ years of clinical research experience after clinical training in related field

  • Expertise in cardiac anatomy and cardiovascular health practices

  • Training and specialization in heart failure, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery

  • Prior experience leading teams with direct reports and/or via matrix reporting structure

  • 50-70% Travel

Preferred

  • 10+ years in medical device industry

  • Preferred advanced degree MBA, MSN, DNP, APN

  • Impella experience a plus

This job posting is anticipated to close on March 14, 2025, the company may however extend this time-period.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $111,000- $160,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for a performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The performance bonus is intended to provide an incentive to achieve targeted results by rewarding the individual. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis
