Responsibilities

Some of our people have qualifications like the ones listed below. Our ideal candidate is passionate about security and furthering their knowledge every day. You enjoy diving into complex source code audits to reveal subtle security vulnerabilities, writing new tools such as fuzzers in languages such as Python, Go or Java, C/C++, and Ruby; tearing apart an undocumented file format or network protocol and coming up with novel techniques to solve unique and interesting security problems. We hope you like working at scale as much as we do much as we do, because Oracle has no shortage of it. You'll review new services, including their integration points with existing services. You'll also guide security projects beyond the scope of performing assessment work: identifying and disclosing vulnerabilities to 3rd party vendor or design of complex systems and services that improve quantity or quality of offensive security output.

  • 5 -10 years of experience in vulnerability discovery / security engineering / application security

  • 3 - 10 years of experience in security architecture assessment and security standards development

  • Technical writing, executive communication, and security evangelism

  • Experience working in a large cloud, service provider, or software company

  • Demonstrated history of vulnerability discovery (CVEs, etc.) and rapid PoC development

  • Experience with multiple classes of security bugs

  • Evidence of participation in the Security community via contribution to open source projects, tool development, blog writing, or responsibly-published vulnerabilities.

  • Ability to effectively assess and communicate risks and appropriate levels of urgency to management and engineering staff

  • Ability to succeed via collaboration and working between internal and external organizations and individuals.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Linux/POSIX OS Internals.

  • Intermediate knowledge of 1 programming language and ability to read 2-3 high level programming language such as Java

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have at least 2 – 5 years’ experience in 3 or more of the following areas:

  • Penetration testing

  • Security architecture

  • Standards development for diverse software architectures

  • Technical writing for security

  • Reverse engineering

  • Log analysis automation

  • Modification of assessment tools

  • Software development and/or advanced scripting

  • Security data science

  • Previous roles with a security focus: security-focused software architecture, vulnerability discovery, SecDevOps, software development oversight, etc.

  • Intermediate Linux knowledge

  • Functional knowledge of 1 programming/scripting language and ability to read 2 low/high level programming language

  • Technical writing experience

  • At least 1 relevant and advanced industry certification: OSCP, OSCE, or equivalent demonstrated work experience

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
