Duties & Responsibilities:

This position will lead the discovery and implementation phases of complex projects for the fund accounting process and supporting technology. You will assist the Product Specialist with the feature delivery roadmap, create user stories for both features and epics. You will also work closely with the engineering manager to deliver solutions. You will also work to continuously improve the feature sets of the applications to ensure our customers are given the best experience in the industry.

You will assist the Product Specialist and key stakeholders with, setting policies, procedures and specific business objectives to align with Fund Services and Corporate direction.

  • Assist in creating a product strategy in collaboration with LOB leaders

  • Ensure clients and associates are satisfied with product support.

  • Assist in the design of technology initiatives to enhance and improve the AltPro fund accounting system

  • Be aware of competing technology products and identify gaps with proprietary accounting system

  • Coordinate with the AltPro development team, leadership and fund accountants when applicable, provide training and assistance to fund accounting teams to ensure adoption of technology changes and enhancements

  • Assist the business development team with sales efforts including system demonstrations

  • Participates in industry activities to gain industry insight and knowledge, understand the competition, and promote the UMB Fund Services brand

  • Use strong analytics capabilities to make data-driven decisions

  • Develops and/or amend policies and procedures as needed

  • Articulate and evangelize strategy and execution details to leadership team, business analysts, designers, engineers, and program team

Knowledge & Skills

MINIMUM:

  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff and effectively manage performance of individuals and teams

  • Excellent ability to develop and maintain relationships within and across teams and departments

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships and anticipate client needs

  • Strong Problem-solving skills with ability to improve efficiencies, processes and team performance

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to manage and anticipate needs in a rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated initiative in a high performing culture with a track record of meeting or beating deadlines

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and advanced Excel skills. Demonstrated aptitude and experience with in-house software

  • Working experience in an Agile framework implementing best practices

PREFERRED:

  • Scrum Master Certified

  • Product Owner Certified

Requirements

MINIMUM :

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

  • Five (5) years of experience in an Agile framework assisting in the delivery of software

PREFERRED :

  • Master's degree in business or related field

  • Designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

SPECIALTY AREA: (ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENTS) :

  • Advanced skills and experience with AltPro

  • Five (5) years of alternative investment fund administration/accounting experience
