Nelnet Program Administrator – Consumer Services in Topeka, Kansas

The Program Administrator oversees the administration needs of projects and programs to support Consumer Services One Team Model. They are responsible for supporting a common set of best practices, standards, processes, and templates for project, program, and portfolio tracking. The Program Administrator provides ongoing configuration, support, administration, maintenance and technical solutions to the toolset used within Consumer Services to house and manage processes and metrics

As a Program Administrator, a typical day might include:

  • Providing support and administrative duties for active programs; managing templates and plans, partnering with development teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners supporting active programs to ensure adherence to standards.

  • Document and evolve nuanced development lifecycle methodologies to meet business objectives across a variety of programs.

  • Administration, training, and technical support for users of One Team Model tools: Confluence and Jira.

  • Assisting with development and utilization reporting metrics for monitoring and analysis.

  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of the standard dashboards and metrics used to support the programs.

  • Performs value stream mapping exercises for all processes owned within Consumer Services for the purpose of streamlining and eliminating waste.

  • Building business acumen, industry knowledge and process expertise.

Developing best practices and providing oversight to Jira and Confluence for Consumer Services team


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or relative experience

  • Certifications (preferred)

  • ACP-100 JIRA

  • ACP-200 Confluence and Jira

  • ACP-300 Jira for agile processes, Jira and Confluence


  • 2-3 years’ experience with Atlassian products, including Confluence and Jira.

  • Experience working with Agile and Lean Frameworks

  • Experience in working on highly visible value deliverables and meeting milestones throughout a project. 

  • Experience providing analytical reporting and metrics. 

  • Experience coordinating collaboration between multiple business segments. 

  • Experience developing and enhancing complex processes using value stream mapping or similar lean approaches.

  • Strong verbal, written, and documentation communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Self-directed and highly motivated, able to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with members of a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of loan origination and servicing a plus.

Colorado residents; pay range for this role is $70,000 - $110,000
