Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Project Coordinator 2 in Topeka, Kansas
Overview
We are seeking an outstanding individual to fill a Project Coordinator role to join the Management and Operations Project Management Office (PMO) team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in PNNL’s ongoing success by delivering high quality support throughout the project life cycle. The PMO is responsible for bringing together people, process and technology to successful execute IMO lab level strategic initiatives and projects for the laboratory.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be customer focused, comfortable engaging with a broad range of audiences, and works well in a teaming and learning environment. Work assignments are received from the lead Project Coordinator and PMO Director. This position is expected to ensure the PMO activities are coordinated across the portfolio and follow up of pending actions. They will be required to take the initiative in completing project administration and management processes and procedures to ensure a smooth operation.
Responsibilities
Assists in daily coordination of project(s) including preparing and maintaining project plans, budgets, reporting, and staffing requirements. Tracks progress and identifies/resolves obstacles. Communicates to internal and external clients. Prepares purchase requisitions (PRs) and tracks procurements and service contracts throughout lifecycle. Supports business office in setting up financial structures, work breakdown structures, and maintains financial integrity. Has knowledge of a wide-range of PNNL business systems. May perform some administrative tasks such and arranging meetings, developing agendas and preparing progress reports.
Additional responsibilities for this position include:
Assists the project managers to track progress, identify and resolve obstacles.
Support the PMO’s Lead Project Coordinator in activities as needed to keep the PMO running effectively and efficiently including project closeout.
Assist projects and project managers in the coordination of technology pilot activities including manage pilot invite lists, monitor and triage pilot feedback, send pilot communications and respond to feedback emails.
Support user acceptance testing activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA and 2+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
MS/MA or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
Can learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Experience delivering exceptional service to customers.
Knowledge of project management practices and principles including agile.
Scrum knowledge is desired but not required.
PNNL experience is preferred.
