About the Role:

The purpose of the Electrical Design Project Manager for the Electrical Vehicle Program is to provide due diligence, feasibility, design, and engineering support for a major multi-year Electric Vehicle Charger (EVC) installation program across the United States. The ideal candidate will have a background in project management and knowledge of electrical and utility grids and their design. This position is REMOTE from the mainland United States only.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate site intake and utility feasibility and desktop assessments with the CBRE Transactions & Real Estate teams to help evaluate and confirm site viability.

  • Collaborate with the EVC Real Estate team to support site host development and the handover to the EPCM project management team.

  • Ensure all elements of the Intake process are coordinated promptly from Real Estate to EPCM.

  • Support the Real Estate team with the identification & collection of key site host facility contact details.

  • Coordinate with the Real Estate team to confirm target locations and initial scope at each location and conveyance of design and delivery expectations.

  • Conduct site assessment walks, construction expectations, and laydown areas.

  • Review & understand the design guideline requirements and expectations.

  • Coordinate with cost managers to validate contractor cost proposals while ensuring site viability and funding requirements.

  • Coordinate development of site feasibility and site layout design packages through contractors and finalize design and funding package for client approval.

  • Develop and coordinate design for EV projects, including the layout of chargers, parking, lighting, signage, etc., as well as location and pathways for utilities, transformer, and transformer protection.

  • Collaborate with local utilities to confirm utility and grid capacity requirements to support the EV charger solution and design considerations.

  • Monitor and support expeditious delivery of utility company scope in support of projects.

  • Evaluate and support project and sourcing team with long lead material assessments and purchase strategies.

  • Assist with project scheduling and helps to monitor project budget and timeline.

  • Recommend safety improvements and adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, CBRE, and client directives related to power, energy, and infrastructure.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or 4 years of electrical and project management experience in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an electrical position working with conduit, transformers, utilities, or similar electrical systems.

  • Knowledge of site layout design and electric utilities is highly desired.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Project Manager – Electrical Designer position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Project Manager – Electrical Designer is $115,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
