About the role:

Takeda's Regional Business Director (RBD) will report directly to the Head of Sales and will optimize our performance for the Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) Portfolio. We ask that you have a high level of product, clinical and customer knowledge. Additionally, you are required to be familiar with protocols and procedures and lead a sales region in managing, growing, and owning their business. The HAE franchise is a patient-centric organization responsible for delivering the highest quality education and service regarding disease and treatment. The goal of the franchise is to reach existing and new markets to meet goals by educating physicians and healthcare professionals on a portfolio of products while upholding our mission and values. In this front-line, field-based leadership position, the Regional Business Director will have responsibility for hiring and leading a team of HAE Regional Business Managers to maintain and grow a designated geographical region. Within the region, you will be called upon to lead and motivate a team to execute a national sales strategy, support key initiatives, develop, and execute on regional plans and monitor performance.

Central region to include all or parts of: TX, OK, KS, MN, WI, IL, MO, IA, SD, ND, NE

How you will contribute:

  • Pull through the commercial strategy to allow Takeda to meet our overarching goals

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive disease awareness and sales performance in the HAE market. Moreover, ensure the education of clinicians to facilitate early diagnosis and comprehensive care for patients.

  • Coordinate all business activities and drive results within geographic responsibilities. Ensure execution of Takeda strategies and tactics within assigned geographic area.

  • Develop business plans to execute selling strategies that are consistent with corporate brand and marketing plans and are tailored to geography and customer context.

  • Coordinate with leaders to foster teamwork, unity and a high level of customer service and education. This coordination includes but is not limited to Marketing, Managed Markets, Medical Affairs and Patient Services.

  • Develop expertise in relevant CRM tools. Ensure the compliant use of CRM tools by sales team and hold accountable for effective use.

  • Use your knowledge in clinical data, disease education, diagnostics, product information, selling skills and market trends to drive team performance.

  • Hire, coordinate training and ensure engagement of a sales team consisting of HAE Regional Business Managers.

  • Manage the performance of the team by providing individual constructive feedback and coaching. Set clear direction, communicate, train, guide, inspire and hold accountable sales personnel to maximize sales and team performance. Visit customers with field sales personnel to ascertain sales effectiveness.

  • Provide developmental assignments to individuals to improve organizational capabilities and develop future leaders.

  • Provide important market insights and field feedback to marketing and leadership teams.

  • Review and analyze data/systems/procedures to support idea generation and implementation of strategic and tactical goals.

  • Apply a high degree of business acumen and use analytics to assess regional performance and potential.

  • Organize and execute POA meetings.

  • Manage and follow all company policies and Legal and Regulatory guidelines.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated successful relevant healthcare sales experience required.

  • Participate in and lead teams to achieve results through cooperation with other commercial functions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who will be able to articulate our strategies and how they relate to our core values.

  • Collaborative team player who can gain credibility within the company, with customers, and with key experts in the field; a polished professional presence

Preferred Qualifications :

  • MBA or MS degree in business/clinical/science.

  • People management experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills with record of hiring, developing, and retaining personnel while delivering agreed revenue targets

  • Leadership experience within Allergy & Immunology.


  • Must be 18 years of age or older with valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

  • Able to travel 70% of the time, including ability to travel overnight and occasionally on weekends

  • Must have authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental
