Facebook Research Intern, Computational Imaging (PhD) in Topeka, Kansas
Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Through our family of apps and services, we're building a different kind of company that connects billions of people around the world, gives them ways to share what matters most to them, and helps bring people closer together. Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Facebook are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.
Come invent the future by joining the Display Systems Research (DSR) group at Facebook Reality Labs Research (FRL Research). Our work spans new VR headset concepts, novel types of computational displays, complex experimental systems, and AI-driven graphics. Partner with research scientists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers to build cutting-edge prototypes and create the AR/VR technology that will bring people together across the globe. We welcome PhD students in computer science, electrical engineering, optics, applied physics or similar, with experience in joint hardware-software design of imaging systems. We are particularly looking for experience with computational cameras and diffractive imaging. Our internships are 16 to 24 weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
