Pearl Interactive Network Senior Benefits Generalist - Remote in Topeka, Kansas

Pearl Interactive Network is sourcing a Remote Sr. Benefits Generalist.

The Sr. Benefits Generalist will provide leave management, benefits, and human resources administrative functions under the direction of the Benefits Manager. The Sr. Benefits Generalist is responsible for understanding and complying with FMLA, related state laws, and UW leave policies as well as overseeing the accommodation process for all contracts and corporate personnel. They will also support benefit and human resources administration and resource processes for all related functions. The Sr. Benefits Generalist ensures all types of accommodations are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed consistently throughout the company. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.

Operating Hours: 8 am - 5 pm EST, Monday - Friday

Job Duties:

  • Maintain leave of absence, worker’s compensation claims and workplace accommodations including ADA.

  • Supervise and coordinate all leave management responsibilities and processes with Benefits Generalists.

  • Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules.

  • Ensure employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.

  • Ensure the complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.

  • Maintain reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work, and relay communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.

  • Preserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.

  • Prepare and maintain various internal leave, benefit, and human resources reports, documents, presentations, and system records and compile reports from the database as needed.

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and HR colleagues to ensure policies are communicated effectively.

  • Serve as backup for the administration of company benefit programs including employee inquiries, enrollment and change administration, claims assistance, billing, and issue resolution.

  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrators. Follow up on claims.

  • Assist in maintaining HR compliance with state and federal regulations by generating and submitting required reports and forms such as EEO reports, Veterans reports, Unemployment claims, OFCCP, Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) forms, and State Registrations.

  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other conferences and seminars as assigned.

  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.

  • Assist or prepare correspondence as requested by the Benefits Manager.

  • Complete other projects as assigned to support the overall mission of the organization.

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in human resources/business or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred. High School Diploma required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in an Administrative Support capacity within Benefits, Leave Management, HR and/or Business is required, ideally in a human resources department.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Experience with benefits administration/payroll/HRIS/ATS software.

  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

  • Navigating multiple computer applications effortlessly is required.

  • Knowledge and ability to search and browse the internet proficiently.

  • Ability to quickly assess priorities and adjust as needed.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
