Job Description Summary:
This is a full-time remote opportunity located anywhere in the United States.
This role will be in our IBM System Z professional services team working on customer engagements to help install, configure, implement, and provide training for the IBM Omegamon product family and various other IBM Mainframe products. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of IBM z/OS, DB2, CICS and IMS. Experience with and working knowledge of other industry leading mainframe monitoring products is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Will provide technical expertise for the OMEGAMON product family to our customers and partners
Will develop in-depth conceptual and technical knowledge of Rocket product line including new releases, new products and interfaces.
Present and deliver highly technical presentations and training on Rocket products
Provides best practices guidance and technical expertise during the installation, configurations, implementation and post-implementation servicing of company products; work as an effective team member or lead in large implementation projects.
Review existing customer implementations to ensure best practices are utilized for maximum customer satisfaction and ongoing business retention
Liaison with Support and Lab to research and respond to detailed questions from prospective and current customers.
Ensures the product implementation method is supportable, maintainable and scalable per established and proven Rocket standards.
Will collaborate with customer, partners, Rocket technical support team and Rocket Sales staff to resolve complex issues
Sharing customer feedback to product management for future enhancements
Will establish credibility with a broad range of business resources; highly experienced developers, systems administrators, project managers, business end users, and executives
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work-related experience
8 + years as a Systems Programmer or other similar position
4+ years development, application lifecycle or change management experience
4+ years Consulting, or team lead experience
Expertise with OMEGAMON tools and processes:
Enhanced 3270 User Interface Navigation and Usage
Tivoli Enterprise Portal GUI interface Navigation & Usage
CICS: ONDV
DB2: Performance Expert Client Usage
IMS: KIPGBL*, ATF Trace, DEXAN, Epilog, RTA, etc.
JVM: Health Center Agent usage
Networking: NMIs, PMI Exit, CSA Tracking, and SNMP configuration
Storage: Dataset Attributes Database feature
Knowledge of the OMEGAMON install process using PARMGEN method and understanding of the new customization process called IBM Monitoring Configuration Manager
Exceptional communication skills
Availability to travel 5-15%

DB2: DB2 Binds/Grants, DB2 Traces, RRSAF, DB2 EXPLAIN database
IMS: KOIPPUE0, DFSAOE00, and DFSPPUE0 user exits, z/OS System Logger Log Streams, I/CF, BMP
Advanced technical knowledge of IBM System Z, z/OS and its concepts
Knowledge of other Z software, including the fundamentals of system operation and configuration, VSAM/QSAM, SMP/E, and RACF security
