This position requires experience in Java development, data integration, and Microsoft SQL Server, with a strong background in public health data systems and migration projects.

The candidate should be comfortable working with multiple data sources, including (ELR, Syndromic Surveillance, and beyond) HL7, Unit Testing, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, and Software Documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and maintain software applications using Java with a focus on data integration and public health reporting.

* Work with Microsoft SQL Server for database management, queries, and optimization.

* Utilize JIRA for tracking development tasks and project management.

* Perform data analysis and ensure data quality across multiple sources.

* Develop and execute unit testing strategies to validate software performance and accuracy.

* Assist with quality assurance (QA) to ensure compliance with public health data standards.

* Utilize shell scripting to automate processes and improve system efficiency.

* Collaborate with stakeholders to provide customer service and troubleshoot software/data issues.

* Maintain software documentation to support system maintenance and knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications:

* 2+ years of software engineering experience, with at least one year as a Software Engineer Level I.

* Proficiency in Java development and experience with data integration projects.

* Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server for database management and analysis.

* Experience working with public health data systems and migration projects.

* Familiarity with, ELR, syndromic surveillance, HL7, and other public health data sources.

* Experience with JIRA for agile development tracking.

* Strong unit testing and quality assurance skills.

* Ability to write and maintain software documentation.

* Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience in public health migration projects.

* Knowledge of additional data integration tools and methodologies.

* Familiarity with cloud-based solutions in public health.
