The Role
Lumen Technologies is the Platform for Amazing Things! The role will work in partnership with our Sales & Customer Success teams, working alongside a Technical Solutions team where you will learn and contribute to our customers’ success. As a Solution Support Associate, you start with an intensive 12-week training program, and upon successful completion, you are assigned to a Solutions Engineering team where your journey with Lumen begins.
This opening is in Lumen Technologies Technical Solutions Transformations Organization and is focused on customers across all industry verticals and segments. The Solution Support Associate is an entry-level position in the Technology Solutions organization. You will have the opportunity to grow your technical and sales skills while contributing to the growth of our enterprise customers as they embrace the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The Main Responsibilities
Immersion Training/Education: complete technical on-boarding education track while shadowing lead engineers and learning the Lumen way. Build proficiency in various tools required to perform successful research tasks and order submission. Become proficient at both informal and formal presentations to technical specialist and sales peer audiences. Learn, learn, learn.
Customer Engagement: under supervision attend customer meetings via collaboration tools and sometimes in person. Work with technical teams in preparing proposal & presentation materials to include research, mock strategy discussions and solutions reviews.
Customer Success: support creation of solution design documentation and data capture processes during sales cycle which includes responding to and communicating with customers to ensure order accuracy.

Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to build relationships over the phone. Must have a proactive communication style ensuring timely status of projects to account team and customer. Must be able to develop relationships and communicate with customer technical staff.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of information technology, communications, or security concepts and general knowledge of technical terminology or industry concepts. Must possess a willingness and appetite to learn new concepts and have the initiative to invest in ongoing professional development through self-study as you develop a working knowledge of Lumen service portfolio, processes, and systems
Problem Solving: Intermediate analytical skills. Must be able to work through complex issues with a methodical approach. May be expected to graphically depict Lumen services and customer solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
Skills: Personal accountability, professional appearance and demonstrated time management skills.
Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to reprioritize as needed or as directed to respond to changing business requirements. Must be detail oriented.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of basic collaboration and office applications (Microsoft Office preferred). Must be willing and able to develop a working knowledge of internal company systems and applications.
Business Acumen: Must demonstrate a basic understanding of business, sales, or financial principals and be able to develop a familiarity with Lumen business goals and sales targets.
Ability to travel as needed (Approx. 10%).
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$46,800 - $62,500 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$49,219 - $65,625 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$51,563 - $68,750 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
