American Express Sr. Analyst, Global Lodging Commissions, Travel and Lifestyle Services in Topeka, Kansas

American Express entered the travel agency business in 1915 and today is one of the world’s largest luxury travel and lifestyle services networks. The Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) business provides exclusive access and extraordinary service for Card Members seeking leisure or business travel, as well as a variety of lifestyle services. The BTOE team, within TLS, has a significant breadth of responsibility with a focus on Business Transformation (identifying process efficiencies, increasing revenue, reducing operational costs) and Operational Excellence (assessing the customer experience with a compliance lens).

The Senior Analyst will support a variety of functions that both grow and sustain the Travel & Lifestyle Services business. The incumbent will be responsible for understanding the end-to-end lifecycle of various business initiatives. The position will interface with Finance and TLS teams across the global organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain a deep knowledge of the Amex Travel & Lifestyle Services business, as well as gain exposure and insight from senior leadership.

Key Priorities and Deliverables/Job Responsibilities · Develop an understanding of the global view of Lodging Commissions, including performance metrics and analyses to inform future strategic plans and identify opportunities to maximize revenue. · Reporting and review of escalated queries, including yield analysis · Perform critical technical tasks that ensure payment and tax data is successfully transferred from the vendor system to Amex Central Command · Deliver key tax reports to specific markets each month to ensure we are in compliance with tax laws · Support in ad hoc tax audits related to hotel commissions · Proactive communication & alignment with key stakeholders, regularly providing project updates with a global lens (trends, critical results, risks, opportunities, performance metrics) · Work closely with external vendor and teams across TLS globally, including operations, finance, technologies, taxation, and the lodging partnerships groups · Partner with the GOA (global operations & analytics) team on analytics
