Sunrun Sr. Manager, New Home Builder Operations in Topeka, Kansas

Overview

The Sr. Manager, NH Builder Operations is responsible for ensuring Sunrun delivers a flawless experience for builders from the time of contract award until final inspection cards are submitted for each lot in a community. The leader is responsible for ensuring all inside operations functions critical for installation are aligned, including community intake & project management; design; permitting; and project coordination. This leader will ensure that workflow and process handoffs are coordinated and executed seamlessly across these four teams as well as with any other upstream or downstream team (Sales Operations, Community Enablement, Account Managers, Interconnection, etc.). They will be responsible for tracking weekly installation volume, forecasting future installations, and ensuring Sunrun never causes a builder to miss a critical build deadline. They will develop and optimize processes, ensure tools are configured to support these processes, and measure performance against a host of critical KPIs, making adjustments as needed to guarantee business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Leads core functions of community intake & project management; design; permitting; and project coordination, and the people leaders or individual contributors of each of those functions

  • Drives installation forecasting process; informs targets for future periods based on data and familiarity with the New Homes business; is accountable for achieving the installation forecast on a quarterly basis

  • Collaborates regularly with builders, installation partners, field leaders, sales and all other teams and stakeholders on an ad hoc basis

  • Establishes standard communication protocols and expectations between builders and Sunrun, and between Installation partners and Sunrun

  • Ensures processes are aligned with target outcomes, and that tools are aligned with critical processes; where they are disconnected, works to get alignment through changes in process, policy or tools

  • Continually tracks costs incurred as a result of the current operating mechanisms; continually seeks to find ways to take cost and waste out of processes

  • Develops a culture of customer focus, accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration and FUN

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 12+ years professional experience

  • 8+ years professional experience in the New Home solar industry, including deep

  • familiarity with critical components of NH Design, Permitting, & Project Management

  • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing other people leaders, and managing multiple subject disciplines simultaneously

  • 5+ years experience working in salesforce, creating dashboards, developing work queues and identifying and bringing process and tool improvements to life

  • Uses a data and metrics based approach to leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to scale a business through periods of volume growth by developing sustainable processes, not just adding more headcount

  • Develops a culture of customer focus, accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and FUN

Physical Demands

  • Up to 20% travel

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$103,221.56 to $137,628.75

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
