Description We are in search of a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team in Topeka, Kansas. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing software solutions on AS400/IBM iSeries platforms using Genexus. This position also involves detailed analysis of business requirements and transforming them into technical specifications. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement software solutions on AS400/IBM iSeries platforms using Genexus.
• Conduct detailed analysis of business requirements and transform them into technical specifications.
• Provide technical support for applications, including problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications, ensuring their scalability, functionality, and optimization.
• Perform code reviews and maintain documentation to ensure code quality and application manageability.
• Understand architecture top to bottom.
• Create and execute a technical roadmap.
• Understand older insurance databases (backend technology - IBM, RPG, DB2).
• Experience with 3rd party implementations.
• Utilize skills in C++, Database, EO/IR systems, GitHub, Hibernate ORM, AB Testing, API Development, ASP.NET, Design, Framework, IBM - RPG. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field of software engineering
• Proficient in C++ programming
• Extensive knowledge of Database design, development, and management
• Experience working with EO/IR systems
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and code sharing
• Experience with Hibernate ORM for managing relational databases
• Knowledge of AB Testing techniques for product development
• Proficiency in API Development for software integration
• Experience with ASP.NET for web application development
• Strong design skills with a focus on user experience
• Familiarity with various software development frameworks
