Cigna Strategic Marketing Advisor - Core Medical Solutions (B2B/DTC) - Work at Home in Topeka, Kansas


We are currently seeking a Strategic Business Marketing Advisor aligned to Cigna's Core Medical Solutions portfolio, principally focused on networks and benefit designs. This role requires business-to-business (B2B) and direct-to-consumer (DTC) strategy development experience to drive both sales growth and customer engagement/experience. The ideal candidate will drive marketing strategy development across a suite of network solutions and benefit designs in collaboration with internal and external partners. This role requires a keen ability to translate business objectives and impacts into sound B2B and DTC marketing strategy, plans and campaigns. The ideal candidate will exhibit proven ability to develop a comprehensive message and marketing strategic framework to connect product and sales initiatives to business goals.

The Advisor role requires the ability to collaborate with and influence business and other matrix partners, in addition to Marketing Centers of Excellence (CoE) partners, and effectively thrive in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous, environment, cutting through the clutter to deliver impactful results.


  • Identify, develop and execute marketing strategies to support successful solution introduction, enhancement and ongoing customer engagement priorities for key aspects of Cigna's Network solutions and benefit designs.

  • Strong relationship management across key solution leads.

  • The ability to have a strategic mind-set, while also leading tactical execution.

  • Partner across marketing centers of excellence (CoEs) to orchestrate end to end marketing plans to drive growth, adoption, retention and optimal customer and client experience.

  • Develop value communication and messaging framework in support of Core Medical network solutions and benefit designs across marketing communications, branding and digital applications.

  • Build effective launch plans and strong value proposition articulation and tools ( show don’t tell ) to effectively arm sales to be successful at growing business within aligned solution portfolio.

  • Cross functional/matrix management with strong leadership and accountability skills. Strong budget management.

  • Collaborate with peers to manage department/team priorities and work flow to support collective business needs.

  • Understand competitive environment, including emerging solutions, and work to differentiate Cigna solutions.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other discipline

  • 5+years of marketing and business strategy experience, must have business to business and direct to consumer experience

  • Strong Modern Marketer: ability to understand and grasp marketing strategy and approach, leverage data and insights to inform strategy and recommended approach, link business need to action, understand how to leverage digital tactics/channels to execute marketing strategy.

  • Health care industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: role does require editing of market-facing collateral and communications.

  • Critical thinker and creative problem solver, who exercises good judgment in resolving difficult situations, prioritizes and can balance needs with enterprise objectives

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment, and juggle multiple, sometimes competing, priorities and requirements

  • Previous experience working with and briefing internal creative teams or outside agencies.

  • Experience executing strategy within timeline, budget and quality standards
