The Team: Learning Experience

The Learning Experience team at Chegg Skills leads and implements our learning strategy across all services and products. Collaborating with Product Managers, UX Designers, Instructional Designers, Learning Scientists, and Data Engineers, we aim to help students achieve their learning goals in an engaging and productive way. We focus on student outcomes, work well in cross-functional teams, adhere to learning-specific KPIs, act quickly, and apply strong business acumen in Chegg\'s fast-paced environment.

Job Description

We are looking for a subject matter expert with expertise in Web Development or Software Engineering to support the creation of curriculum content that maximizes student learning and career outcomes. The ideal candidate should have teaching experience, preferably in web development.

In this role, you will work with an Instructional Designer to validate our curriculum designs for online learning programs for adults. You will be asked to provide expert input on program outlines, skills taxonomies, program outcomes, learning objectives, and realistic activities for learners to practice new skills and evaluate their learning. These materials will be used to support our students as they master the core skills of Full Stack Software Engineering subject matter. You will also work with the media team to review video scripts and images for accuracy and develop video scripts.

This is a 2-month contract with approximately 15-20 hours/week.

  • Offer prompt, clear, specific, and research-backed insights on how to prepare learners for a career in the field.

{=html} <!-- --> - Consistently deliver content that meets set criteria and is on time to support our program launch roadmap

{=html} <!-- --> - Create assets to support lesson plans, student activities, and written curriculum content such as:

{=html} <!-- --> - Individual projects and presentations

{=html} <!-- --> - Video scripts for topic and demonstration videos

Requirements

  • Degree in software engineering, or a related field.

{=html} <!-- --> - Minimum of 5 years\' experience in Full Stack Software Engineering with an emphasis in JavaScript, React, Application Deployment, GitHub, Programming Fundamentals, Frontend Web Development, and Backend Web Development.

{=html} <!-- --> - Previous experience developing Software Engineering curriculum for adults related to topics like: For Loops, Arrays, Robust Server Structure, HTML/CSS, Backend Deployment, Data Structure and Algorithms

{=html} <!-- --> - Collaborative (e.g., you enjoy partnering with people and have excellent project management skills and follow through)

{=html} <!-- --> - Excellent writing skills (e.g., you can produce high-quality prose as well as high-quality presentations. You have a gift for writing about complicated concepts in a beginner-friendly way, and can appropriately scaffold content for beginners)

{=html} <!-- --> - Comfort with scripting and recording demo videos.

{=html} <!-- --> - Capable of remote work. You enjoy collaborating and partnering with people in a remote environment and have excellent project management skills and follow through.
