The successful candidate will be required to submit to a background check prior to hire. Position is 10-month, full-time with benefits, and has the possibility of renewal contingent on the availability of funding and the need for services.RESPONSIBILITIES* Participate in the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.* Participate in developing standards for student admission, progression and program completion.* Develop course objectives, content and laboratory experiences.* Instruct based on current teaching practices, including the potential of online teaching.* Collaborate with other technical instructors to implement the course of study.* Teach both theoretical and practical learning experiences.* Select and maintain appropriate materials, audiovisuals and equipment to enhance student education.* Observe, direct, guide, and evaluate student performance in a laboratory setting.* Maintain student records pertaining to the program.* Assist in selection, recruitment, retention, evaluation, advising and counseling of program students.* Develop and maintain working relationships and constructive interaction with other technical instructors, both in the program and across the institution, and personnel of the school, cooperating agencies and community groups.* Participate in professional organizations and advisory committees.* Attend seminars, conferences and workshops.* Serve as a member of committees as assigned.* Perform all other functions necessary for the proper operation of assigned courses.QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED: High school diploma with two years or '4000 hours' of industry experience as a diesel technician or related military experience as a diesel technician. PREFERRED: Associate's degree in Diesel Technology with two years or '4000 hours' of work experience as a diesel technician.
