GENERAL
Provides technical expertise and manual skill in the inspection, servicing, and repair of the buildings, grounds, equipment, and
furnishings of the district.

QUALIFICATIONS
? High school diploma or equivalent.
? Experience in maintenance work with working knowledge of various phases of maintenance.
? Licensed driver in the state of Kansas.
? Must meet all district safety requirements.
? Must meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by supervisor.
? Ability to effectively use district email.
? Must demonstrate ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
? Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure
manuals.
? Must have reliable personal transportation.
? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentially at all times.
? Must support district mission, goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Perform general maintenance duties which include plumbing, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic; fabrication of wood
projects, glass and floor/ceiling tile replacement and door repair or replacement for the purpose of keeping up the
appearance of each building.
? Report need for minor or major repairs to building systems for the purpose of regular maintenance.
? Performs grounds keeping duties which shall include but not limited to: (a) Keep grounds/playing fields in preparatory
condition; (b) Pick up litter, tree limbs, mow, trim and cultivate shrubs and trees; (c) Clean snow, ice, and debris from
sidewalks, assist in emergency clean-up for the purpose of providing a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for
students and staff members.
? Assist in mowing, hauling and rearranging furniture as classroom and building revisions are made for the purpose of ensuring
that the facility is ready for regular or special activities.
? Pick-up, haul, and deliver equipment and supplies to ensure that each building has the appropriate equipment and supplies.
? Assists with moving, setting up and storage of audio visual, classroom equipment and/or curriculum materials.
? Use cleaning implements, equipment, machinery and vehicles provided by the district to accomplish tasks.
? Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal
requirements and to maintain a professional work environment.
? Inspects for and conducts pest control.
? Manages job requirements with physical dexterity to use small basic hand tools in simple procedures (changes bulbs, provides
computer electrical service, services motor driven pumps/blowers, replaces glass panels, works gauges, etc.).
? Other duties as a ssigned.
? Attends training.
? Regular attendance is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. While
performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk and hear. Physical exertion to
manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials up to 60+ lbs., stooping, bending and reaching may be required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Some extended hours and multiple demands from
several people are frequently required by the employee.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors, noisy and crowded environments, and work indoors and outdoors year-round in a
variety of temperatures; may be required to wear protective gear including gloves for exposure control. Must manage job
