Position Title: HVAC Technician

Department/Location: Maintenance

Position Qualification: Classified 12 month

Reports To: Director of Maintenance/Grounds

Terms of Employment: At-Will

GENERAL

Provides technical expertise and manual skill in the inspection, servicing, and repair of the districts HVAC systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

? High school diploma or equivalent.

? Experience in maintenance work with working knowledge of HVAC.

? HVAC certification from accredited school

? Licensed driver in the state of Kansas.

? Must meet all district safety requirements.

? Must meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by supervisor.

? Ability to effectively use district email.

? Must demonstrate ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

? Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure

manuals.

? Must have reliable personal transportation.

? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentially at all times.

? Must support district mission, goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

? Perform general maintenance duties to ensure full and productive use of district facilities.

? Determine HVAC requirements to ensure all HVAC and electrical meets code.

? Perform HAVC maintenance, repair, and replacement work.

? Charges air conditioning systems with refrigerant and evacuate systems as required.

? Perform HVAC electrical maintenance, repair, and replacement work.

? Pick-up, haul, and deliver equipment and supplies to ensure that each building has the appropriate equipment and supplies.

? Assists with moving, setting up and storage of audio visual, classroom equipment and/or curriculum materials.

? Use cleaning implements, equipment, machinery and vehicles provided by the district to accomplish tasks.

? Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal

requirements and to maintain a professional work environment.

? Inspects for and conducts pest control.

? Maintains clean and orderly work area.

? Other duties as assigned.

? Attends training.

? Regular attendance is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. While

performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk and hear. Physical exertion to

manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials up to 60+ lbs., stooping, bending and reaching may be required..

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Some extended hours and multiple demands from

several people are frequently required by the employee.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors, noisy and crowded environments, and work indoors and outdoors year-round in a

variety of temperatures; may be required to wear protective gear including gloves for exposure control. Must manage job

requirements with physical mobility to move from place to place (walking, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling,

turning, reaching, climbing, balancing, lift up to 90 lbs. on a daily basis), and use large heavy equipment.
