Mission Statement Support

This position supports the Youngers & Sons mission statement by locating, screening, and testing potential employees for required skills and abilities, and alignment with the Company mission. Develops and grows employee skills through coordinating training.

Job Summary:The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the functions of the Human Resources (HR) and Safety including hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits, and leave, developing and administering training, enforcing company policies and practices and leading a safety committee.

Duties/Responsibilities:Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.Manages the talent acquisition process, which include recruitment, interviewing, scheduling, hiring and onboarding of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.Analyzes trends in health and welfare benefits, with the assistance of brokers, to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.Administers 401k Plan, coordinating service with the third-party administrator to ensure compliance with the Plan.Manages Workers Compensation benefits.Researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programsCreates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees. Coordinates and develops all training.Oversees and provides guidance on employee discipline, terminations, and investigations.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Manages the Safety Program and coordinates efforts with the Safety Committee.Develops external relationships to promote and maintain the Company image in the community.Manages the Company communications and company picnics and parties for the purpose of enhancing the development of the Company culture.Performs other duties as assigned
