Job Title: Machinist II

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and engineering specifications to craft metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines with exacting tolerances and dimensions. The role involves collaborating with engineers, production personnel, and other machinists to resolve machining or assembly problems, ensuring all parts conform to blueprints and specifications, and maintaining a safe and audit-ready work area.

Hard Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of machining principles on various materials

  • Proficiency in machining processes, tools, and mathematics

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Basics

  • Ability to make standard shop computations for dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds

  • Ability to measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points for stock machining

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Capability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Wellington, Kansas.

Work Environment

Climate-controlled machine shop with a team of about 8 Machinists
