Registered Nurse – Emergency Department – Wellington, KS

(Full Time) 3 12 hour shifts per week

(PRN) 1 12hour shift minimum per pay period

7pm – 7am

Rotating weekend and holiday requirement

What You Will Do

Ascension Via Christi will open an Emergency Hospital to the city of Wellington. Together, local first responders and our ER care team will work with our network of Kansas hospitals to provide personalized care, close to home. We are looking for experienced Emergency Department nurses to join our team.

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 6 Months of hire date or job transfer date.

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required prior to hire or job transfer date.

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required prior to hire or job transfer date.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience. Emergency services experience a plus.
