JOB SUMMARY:

Assists in performing the necessary duties as related to the procurement strategy, for the planning and execution of materials and resources for entry into service on new model aircraft as related to the Aftermarket.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with source selection and managing suppliers. Participate in sourcing activities related to new product launches and current product changes. Support negotiations with suppliers, providing information and analyses as needed.

  • Will be responsible for various projects related to the selection of the suppliers for prototypes and production parts aligned with the Aftermarket strategy and program team requirements for Textron Aviation Parts Distribution.

  • Will learn how to coordinate RFP/RFQ (Request for Quote/Proposal Packages) with supply base.

  • Responsible to utilize the tools to assist in direct operating cost analysis for the components related to the specific program.

  • Projects related to inventory management of service parts required for projected or forecasted sales and distribution.

  • Reviews and analyzes inventory reports and stock lists to determine the need for initial provisioning.

  • Assesses inventory levels to avoid excessive inventory, inventory shortages, and/or inventory inaccuracies within defined guidelines.

  • May assist in writing and reviewing aftermarket sections of the Program Activation Manual as well as the Specification and Description.

  • Helps to maintain databases, including their structure, input, and accuracy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Aircraft Management, or other related field

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work in a team environment to meet department level objectives

  • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency

  • Statistical Analysis

  • Use of Analysis Tools

  • Use of Power BI preferred

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
