JOB SUMMARY:

In this position, interns will utilize and develop their basic knowledge ofdata/metric analysis with a strategic drive to create customer value through process improvements, cost reduction and product improvement. This opportunity enables an individual to grow and innovate while being able to experience across-functionalwork environment and implement new technologies in buildingworld-classaircraft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with providingtimely and relevant metrics toPlant Managersand Director

  • Active participation in identifying production flow issues stemming fromwork sequencing, task/line balancing, tooling/equipment constraints, and manpower allocation/

  • Assist with creation andautomateddelivery of KPIs such as Efficiency, DCI & Overtime.

  • Application of standard hours through use ofappropriate models, tools and methods to assure time standards are appropriately applied to produce new parts/

  • Analyze and makes recommendations regarding production facility arrangements for improvements to production capacity, manufacturing flow, new model incorporation, and strategic work

  • Analyze and solve production flow issues stemming from sequence of work, balance of tasks, tooling/equipment constraints, and manpower allocation/

  • Gather, analyze, and summarizes production process data for their use in valuing and prioritizing process continuous improvement

  • Assist withwork center configuration settings for SAP Capacity Planning

  • Assist in the preparation of cost development

  • Value stream mapping, network mapping and associated gap analysis

  • Implement methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

  • EDUCATION:

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following:

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • Industrial Engineering

  • Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET)

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Robotics Technology

  • Other related fields

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong analytical andproblem-solvingskills 

  • Collaborates and easily gets along in team-based 

  • Action-orientedand ability to shift processes and priorities

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • Computer Proficiency (MS Office, CAD, etc.)

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
