Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Flight begins with you at Spirit AeroSystems, a place where you can explore your interests and grow your career by working on impactful projects. As a Tooling Engineer intern you can expect to:
Apply engineering principles and technical knowledge to the design and support of airplane manufacturing tools.
Create and articulate detailed instructions and media for the fabrication of tools and resolves concerns that may arise during the fabrication process.
Design using CATIA and present designs in reviews to gain feedback and approval.
Investigate design issues by working with users, managers and the Environmental Health & Safety organization.
Learn to perform stress analysis for designs to meet requirements
Gain real-world practical and leadership skills through challenging hands-on opportunities.
Connect with subject matter experts, mentors and decision makers.
Be a part of an intern cohort that enjoys organized social, recreational and volunteer activities.
Also, should you be selected as a 2025 Spirit AeroSystems Summer Intern, you will have exposure to several activities including:
Multiple Manufacturing Plant Tours of Iconic aircraft

Project Expo (An opportunity to present an intern project for Executive Leaders)

Qualifications
Requirements:
You must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)
You must be enrolled full time in a university degree program aligned to the area of internship.
You must be a current sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student in good academic standing.
