Position Specific Responsibilities
We are hiring multiple advising positions in the College of Engineering to help serve our growing undergraduate students that are innovators of tomorrow on their mission to become the best engineers. The main focus will be to provide comprehensive student success services to engineering students in efforts to support them persisting towards graduation goals. Therewill also be a specialty focus.\ \
The area of specialty focus could pertain to the following & determination of which will be based on best fit of the candidate.
1. 1. Graduation- Assist in coordination of graduation activities, obtaining volunteers leading up to & after the date. Will assess degree applications & criteria being met for engineering plus or providing shortfalls if the case. 2. Transfer- Manage the scheduled review of articulation agreements with other educational institutions & verification of the expedited path related to inquiries. Provide dual advisement to students at other educational institutions about education path & how to maintain the achievability. 3. Outreach & Data- Utilize database to provide or create targeted campaigns/messaging, informing students of needed resources or follow up. Assist the rest of the advising team on information pertinent to their appointments/students goals &/or needs.
To be successful in this space & with this population, you need to be driven, organized, and willing to be part of a small team that facilitates aspects tied to a much larger team. Having your eye on the prize should boil down to student success & willing to backup your team in terms of learning, duties & appointments to jump in as needed. You have a direct impact on the trajectory of recruiting for the Engineering College & the success of students within.\ \

Summary of Responsibilities
Advises students concerning their academic plans, progress, and academic and career goals in order to assist students in making personal education decisions and meeting graduation requirements. Interprets student needs and provides individualized service and assistance while maintaining confidentiality.
Essential Functions
Provides students with information on how to complete their college degree and refers students to appropriate campus and community services and resources when needed.\ Serves as a resource person to faculty and others with regard to academic advising policies and procedures. May review and optimize procedures as needed.\ May assist in the development of and participates in recruitment and retention activities related to the student population such as monitoring educational progress and/or providing application or other assistance. May maintain confidential student records and personal information.\ May conduct or participate in seminars, workshops or orientation sessions for students on academic, career and personal success strategies and other group activities.
