Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for accounting activities and oversight of internal controls associated with Textron Financial (TFC) Accounting. Responsible for maintaining effective internal controls and procedures to ensure appropriate safeguarding of company assets and timely, accurate accounting records. This position will work directly with a Kansas licensed CPA and provide challenging opportunities for an individual seeking an accounting role that works across all functional levels of the business.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform accounting activities by supporting TFC team members located around the globe, providing guidance, and application of accounting principles in day-to-day operations.
Reconciliation of various accounts, create monthly journal entries identified during the process.
Provide financial data and related information in support of external and internal audit activities.
Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports and making recommendations to management.
Responsible for collecting and submitting information, financials, or performing analysis on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis for TFC leadership to make timely and effective decisions.
Provides analytical support for various levels of presentations by TFC leadership, including monthly operating reviews, monthly operating calls, and quarterly closing calls.
Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required
Review and analyze, as directed, operating procedures and controls to ensure they are consistent with the business processes and are operating effectively.
Assists in the coordination of maintaining finance and accounting documents, records, and reports to ensure compliance with the Records Retention Policy and to ensure adequate support of the reports and documents provided is maintained.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with cross-functional management and facilitate communication between the various organizations and Finance.
Maintain and develop professional, financial, and general business skills through professional and financial training, product familiarization and remaining aware of current accounting and industry developments and trends.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 2 years financial accounting or related experience.
