The Controller is responsible for implementing financial strategies that align with the organizational goals while maintaining appropriate internal controls, accurate financial reporting, efficient accounts payable/receivables, and tax management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and execute the companys financial strategy.
- Manage basic accounting procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, monthly and quarterly financial reports, and weekly forecasts to management team by summarizing current and projected financial position.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and transactions in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management.
- Develop financial reports for analysis and forecasting.
- Communicate with customers on an ongoing basis to address any past due invoices or payment concerns.
- Produce financial data upon request and assist with other accounting projects.
- Produce financial information for effective business decision making.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and corporate income tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks ensuring adequate insurance and other risk management programs.
- Streamline and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement cost saving measures and optimize financial performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team with ensuring effective departmental support.
