Pay:Salary range begins at \$50,000 and is commensurate with education and experience

Work Schedule:TBD per semester based on teaching assignments.

Job Summary

Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels using various instructional deliveries (e.g., traditional (face-to-face), hybrid, and fully online). To foster applied learning into the course design and engage with industry and local business community applied projects. To advance knowledge through scholarly activities (e.g., active involvement in committees, student mentorship, recruitment and retention initiative, outreach activities, etc.)

Job Duties

This position will teach an average of 12 credit hours per fall and spring semester, ranging from College Algebra through Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, and Elementary Statistics. Other responsibilities will be to participate in the growth of quality instruction within the department by acting as a mentor to Graduate Teaching Assistants and serving on appropriate departmental committees.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduate level degree or higher in direct or closely related field
  • 1+ years of mathematics and/or statistics instruction at a 4 year university
  • Evidence of successful teaching

  • Commitment to diverse populations.
  • Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and strategies in instructional delivery and learning activities, including online and blended learning, flexible teaching methods, and applied learning approaches.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in the Mathematical Sciences
  • Experience working with course curriculum committees and participating in teaching reform.
  • Mathematical technology/computer literacy
  • Ability to teach via alternative delivery systems.
