The successful candidate will be expected to take part in teaching OT content to graduate students in the entry-level OT Doctoral (OTD) and the post-professional OTD programs, and to have an interest in interprofessional teaching collaborations to support evidence-based practice.As the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC), the successful candidate's role will include primary responsibilities of 1) cultivating relationships with fieldwork educatorsand fieldwork sites across the country, 2) developing innovative models of fieldwork in collaboration with fieldwork educators, regional AFWCs, and clinical, educational and community settings, 3) working with Department staff to insure placement of students in fieldwork experiences according to ACOTE standards, and 4) monitoring and managing student outcomes across all fieldwork settings. The successful candidate will work closely with the OTE Doctoral Capstone Coordinator for the entry-level OT Doctorate program and other contributing members of the fieldwork team, and will be expected to provide service within university, professional, and community settings.Job Description:Required Qualifications:PhD, OTD, EdD or DSc or Completion of advanced degree within six months of employment. Eligible for OT licensure in the state of Kansas; Experience as an OT Fieldwork Educator in clinical, education, or community settings; A history of professional practice in occupational therapy settings; Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience teaching in a professional OT program; An interest in creating relationships and innovative models for Fieldwork experiences; Experience teaching OT content in an entry-level professional curriculum; An interest in translating role-related experiences into scholarly activity; Teaching interest/experience in working with people having neurologic, orthopedic, and/or chronic conditions.Job Duties Outlined: Cultivate relationships with fieldwork educators and fieldwork sites across the country. Serve as advisor and mentor for doctoral students enrolled in the entry-level and post- professional Occupational Therapy programs. Teach graduate level coursework related to evidence-based OT practice. Share scholarly works in appropriate settings. Participate in providing service to the university, community, state, and nation. Contribute to department mission and agendas; contribute to fostering a dynamic, cooperative, and collegial academic environment.
